We realized early on minimizing the impact on mental health of children as a preventive measure during Covid-19 pandemic. We have always believed that life skills don’t need extra attention if our day to day activities are done mindfully. We bring in social and emotional learning in our daily routine by organizing our online lesson plans and making considerable space for SEL activities In the paradigm shift during the Pandemic, SKYworld School focuses on the collaborative of

Visual and Performance Arts: Using more visual and performance arts as a method to make online learning a happy experience to reinforce positive behavior while studying from home and are not getting school environment. Spiritual and Co-Curricular Activities: Each day children are engaged for one hour in sports, yoga, meditation, dance, art, craft and music activities. Open Houses: Children share their experiences what they learnt through role plays poems, speeches, models, presentations with parents. In reflection circle, they answer parents’ questions to share their deeper understanding of what they learnt. Children feel happy and encouraged when they see their parents’ value and appreciate their performance. Competitions: Inter school and Intra school competitions helped children feel connected socially. Develop confidence and self esteem, which are important attributes for social and emotional learning. Webinars for Teachers and Parents: As a part of our constant endeavour to keep our students, parents and teachers updated, the school has organized a webinar on the application of multiple intelligence theory by Harvard Gardner to develop unique potential. Webinars by psychologists for parents to help their children to cope with unprecedented circumstances while they are locked up in their homes.
