550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji
TheSKYworldschool celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji with special zeal and vigor. Celebrations were a three day affair for different sections of students, kindergarten, primary and secondary. The pomp, gaiety and splendor with which we celebrate our rich cultural festivals have an aura of positivity about them that is so contagious that no student is left untouched. All efforts are done to achieve the objectives of celebrations in the true spirit.
The students and teachers of senior section organized Langar in the school grounds. They had first hand experience that when you cook, share, serve and partake the Langar, hundreds of you together, you realize that all human beings are the children of one God. They sang verses and hymns from holy book,Guru Granth Sahib to awaken divine feeling of oneness with God and with all other human beings. This eternal truth is imbibed by students when they celebrate the lives of great saints in school and will help to assimilate deeper in meaning as they grow.
Students of other classes visited Gurudwara Nada Sahib to attend Shabad Kirtan. Various activities were conducted like mindful prayers, Ardas, stories of videos from Guru Nanak Dev’s life were shown, speeches and poems by students in assembly followed by interactions with teachers and quiz in every classroom.
The main focus was to emphasize the three principles that are the foundation of Sikhism: Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, Vand ke Chako.
An effort to give the parents a glimpse of their child’s growth. And, to provide them a chance to see from close quarters how confidently their children demonstrate learning. There was an expression of assurance on every parent’s smiling face that their child is at the right place. The Sky School has always believed that each child is a star. Therefore, everything we do here is to make our stars shine brighter than ever.
Reflections 2019 was organised with the intent to showcase the different intelligences a child can possess. Moreover, it gave an opportunity to the parents to see that their children are gradually transforming into happy independent learners. We at The Sky School endeavour to give them an environment where they can sing and swing gracefully, speak and enact flawlessly and learn happily.
